Obituary for Walter Harris
Walter “Mike” Harris, 59, of Pekin, IL formerly of Glasford, IL passed away Thursday November 17, 2011 at Timbercreek Rehab in Pekin, IL. He was born February 18, 1952 in Peoria, IL to George J. and Ruthie M. Clubs Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two nephews. He is survived by his son, George (Adel) Harris of Farmington, IL; daughters, Jennifer Harris of Glasford, IL, Esther Harris of Lake Camelot, IL; five grandchildren, Hunter, Cash, Joselyn, Chris, Mason; brother, Steve (Debbie) Harris of North Pekin, IL; sister, Evelyn (Richard) Waggoner of Pekin, IL; brother, Mark Harris of Pekin, IL and sisters, Peggy (Kenny) Jackson of Nashville, AR, June (Bob) Mankey of Baldknob, AR and Tracy (Jim) Mankey of Baldknob, AR. Mike worked as a truck driver for O’Neill Trucking for 30 years retiring in 2010. He was saved, baptized and became a member of the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in October 2010. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. The funeral service will be held Tuesday November 22, 2011 at his church, New Testament Missionary Baptist Church on Velde Drive in Pekin, IL at 10 a.m. Pastor Roger Hamilton will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, IL. The visitation will be held Monday November 21, 2011 at the church from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
