Obituary for Valerie R. Gillette
Valerie R. Gillette, 40, of Morton passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born August 19, 1984, in Peoria to John P. and Malinda Oglesby Cohoon. Her father preceded her in death.
Valerie married Michael M. Gillette on June 6, 2000, in Marion Co., MO; he survives. She is also survived by her children, Pierce Gillette, Hayden Gillette, Michael Gillette and Hannah (Omar) Real; grandchildren, Mason and Willow; stepdaughter, Brenda Dunnaway; mother, Malinda Dismang; she was a special daughter of Danny and Shirley Gillette; siblings, Tracey, Christina, Adam, Spring, Katie, Thelma, Dana, Michelle, Charles and Bud; she was a devoted niece to Sonny and Cheryl Fuller and cousin, Sonny.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Valerie loved cooking and watching cooking shows. She enjoyed camping and going to the beach.
Cremation has been accorded and private services will be held.
