Obituary for Thomas Smith
Thomas C. Smith, 80, of East Peoria, IL passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. He was born December 26, 1932 in Bowles County, KY to Houston and Leona Vaughn Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James and sisters, Fanny Nell, Georgie Geraldine and Edna. He is survived by his daughters, Janice (Chuck) Thomas of Creve Coeur, IL, Debra (Andrew) Snoke of Fruita, CO; grandchildren, Stacey, Chad, Nicolas, Nathan and great-grandchildren, Brooke, Madison, Carson, Logan, Lincoln and Claire. Thomas served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He worked for Caterpillar. He was a member of the Frank Nicol Masonic Lodge 1170, AF & AM, in Creve Coeur, IL and Abbas Grotto and past member of the American Legion Post 1234 in Creve Coeur, IL. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Creve Coeur Christian Church 101 S. Thorncrest in Creve Coeur, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria in his name.
