Obituary for Theodore Zonis
Theodore Zonis, 88, of Pekin passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Autumn Accolade in Green Valley. He was born September 4, 1927 in Peoria to Nicholas and Janet Knight Zonis. He married Deloris Hering in Peoria on May 13, 1950; she preceded him in death October 16, 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne (Hans) de Boer and grandchildren, Claire and Ralph who reside in the Netherlands; sister, Mary (Paul) Cook of Bartonville; brother, Peter Zonis of Glen Ellyn, IL; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kula of Markham, IL; niece; Tina (Jeff) Taggert of Peoria, great nieces and nephews; Emily, Joseph, Tom, Anna and nephew; Tim Cook of East Peoria. Ted served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He worked for C&NW Railroad. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a funeral mass will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation half hour prior at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to wish.org.
