Obituary for Thelma (Jeannie) Short
Thelma “Jeannie” Short, 77, of Glasford passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria with her daughters by her side. She was born July 24, 1939 in Orion County, IL to John and Edna Marie Hennerd Taylor. She married Bobby Short December 21, 1957; he preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents; several brothers and sisters and one granddaughter, Jess. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Wally) Gohde of Pekin, Regina Ulrich of Eureka; grandchildren, Jason Gohde, Isac Short, Erik (Mindy) Patrick, Matthew Smith, Gregory (Sadie) Smith, Bobby Smith, Alex Gohde, Tyler Gohde; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings and her beloved dog, Frankie. Jeannie worked at Marie’s Café in Glasford, Red Fox in Glasford, Thompson Grocery in Pekin, Caterpillar Cafeteria in Mapleton and C & M Market in Glasford. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Glasford and also attended the Methodist Church in Kingston Mines with her grandson, Isac. She was proud of her eight grandsons and her seven great-grandchildren. She played Bunco for many years. She loved roses, teddy bears, apples and shopping at the Pekin Walmart with her grandson, Isac. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Glasford Timber Hollis Fire Department.
