Obituary for Terril "Terry" Bealmer
Terril (Terry) B. Bealmer, 72, of Mapleton passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2018. He was born in Peoria, IL on May 12, 1946, to Howard and Geneva (Bentzinger) Bealmer. Terry married Linda Birchler, on January 11, 1968. She survives, along with daughter Tamara (Scott) Bridgewater of Morton, IL; son Christopher (Anna Sitkiewicz) Bealmer of Washington, IL; sisters Darda (Robert) Ledergerber, Marcia (the late Ronald) Coleman, and Carla Schneider, all of Quincy, IL. Surviving grandchildren are Shane and Ryan Jurick of the US Navy, Norfolk, VA; Erica Jurick of Morton, IL; Samuel and Allison Bealmer of Washington, IL. Additional survivors are brothers- and sisters-in-law, Norman and Connie Birchler; Leo and Paula Birchler; Shirley and Charlie Schulze; Betty and Bill Gibson; mother-in-law, Clara Birchler; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Doris Birchler, and his father-in-law, Paul Birchler.
Terry graduated from Limestone Community High School in 1964, 3rd in his class. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 1969. He worked in area pharmacies for 42 years, always maintaining a high code of ethics. Terry retired in 2011 from Kroger Pharmacy in Bartonville.
His hobbies included flying his drone, enjoying nature and photography, woodworking, kayaking/canoeing, and traveling to the Rocky Mountains every year. He was a brutally honest man with a heart of gold and a wicked sense of humor.
Thanks to the wonderful staff at Compassus Hospice, and granddaughter, Erica, CNA. They all cared for him professionally and lovingly.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held December 1, 2018, at Coyote Creek, 8201 W. Lancaster Road, Bartonville, IL, from 2-4 PM with a remembrance tribute at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, or The American Red Cross.
