Obituary for Sylvia L. Robinson (Sewell)
Sylvia L. Robinson (Sewell) passed on to her heavenly home on September 10, 2021 at 11:27 p.m.
She was born in Tennessee and raised in Arkansas. She spent most of her adult life in the Peoria and Princeville, Illinois area.
Sylvia touched the lives of many and shared her gifts throughout her life. She had a special ability to relate to children and also to animals. She also enjoyed gardening, dancing, walking in the outdoors, and helping others. She was a school bus driver for many years and also taught Sunday School and Bible School. She also served as a senior caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Robinson; her parents, Hayes Sewell and Maude (Browder) Sewell; five brothers, Haze Sewell, Jerry Sewell, Charles (Chuck) Sewell, Fred (Rockie) Sewell and Dennis Sewell.
She is survived by her brother, Claude (Toma Lea) Sewell and sisters-in-law, Garnett Sewell and Mary Sewell; her children, Vickie Clark (married to Dan Clark), Rick Robinson (married to Kim Robinson) and Mary Walker (married to Keith Walker); 9 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; 1 great-greatgrandchild, and many nieces and nephews for whom she cared greatly. She was also a foster parent to many children.
Her favorite hymn was “In the Garden”, by Charles Austin Miles. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 3, at 1:00 p.m. at the Kickapoo Sportsman’s Club, 11125 W. US Highway 150, Brimfield, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Pets for Seniors, PO Box 9486, Peoria, IL 61612 or the Children’s program at Richwoods Christian Church, 8115 Knoxville Avenue, Peoria, IL 61615.
