Suzanne Spitznagle, 72, of Pekin passed away after a long struggle with dementia, Monday, July 30, 2018, 8:46 AM, at Timbercreek in Pekin.
She was born March 19, 1946, in Peoria to Rolla and Bernadine (Warne) McClanathan.
She married David Linton Spitznagle on September 15, 1972 In Bellevue IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave and her son, Robert Allen VanDyke Jr, known to many as Bobby.
She leaves behind her children, Christy and Tim Naylor of Pekin, IL, Matthew Spitznagle of Peoria, IL and Gretchen and Keith Moore of Dubuque, IA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, David, Jenna, Kayley, Jordan and Chelsea as well as two great-granddaughters, Clarissa and Zayley.
Sue worked many jobs throughout her life. She worked as a certified cashier at Jumer's Castle Lodge and Lenscrafters in Peoria. Later taking a position with Lutheran Social Services in Peoria where she loved being able to help others in her community. Finally owning and operating Crazy 8’s Pool Hall where they adopted many friends of the family.
As per her request no services will be held. Cremation has been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
