He worked several places throughout his life, including a brief stint at Caterpillar and for a time in the 1980s at Conklin. However, he was primarily a bartender working for several years at Red Lobster, 25 years at Mt. Hawley Country Club, and the IVY Club until three weeks before he passed where he made many lifelong friends. He was a very outgoing and friendly person which helped both behind the bar and during the many years he was a DJ. TT loved playing his version of name that tune on Christmas Eve where he inevitably would beat the entire family.
In his spare time, Steven was a gifted artist and woodworker, drawing and painting hundreds of pieces including several murals that adorned the walls of Famous City Bistro in Peoria and building benches, bags boards, and many other wood projects. Even while in treatment at The Cancer Center, he drew pictures for various patients and employees. In earlier years, he enjoyed bowling on several leagues and in the Brothers Tournament in Peoria. In later years, he bowled with his son, Nick.
Steven’s wish was for there to be no services after his passing. However, a living wake was held at the IVY Club on August 5, 2023, where his 20 years at the IVY Club as well as his life were celebrated by friends and family alike. Cremation rites have been accorded.
