Obituary for Steven Johnson
Steven Craig Johnson, 63, of Bellevue passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1950 in Kirksville, MO to Louie and Dorothy Pyles Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Deborah Hamilton. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Johnson of Peoria; daughter, Jessica (Joe) Matlock of Pekin; son, Christopher (Melissa) Johnson of Pekin; grandchildren, Julianna Johnson, Michael Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Joey Ross, Sean Sparks, Evan Hartley, Latasha Matlock; brother, Douglas (Kathy) Johnson of Dunlap; sister, Julia Johnson of Peoria and several nieces and nephews. Steven served in the U.S. Navy; he received the National Defense Service Medal. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, he loved his rocks. He also loved to fish. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria at 11 a.m.
