Obituary for Steven J. Tipton
Steven J. Tipton, beloved father of nine children, passed away at the age of 66, with family by his side on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
Steven was born on May 17, 1956, to Henry Sr. and Julia Tipton. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brother, Timothy Tipton; a daughter, Erin; a son, Mark, and three sisters in law, Denise Tipton, Sheri Tipton and Jacqueline Hudnall Tipton. Steven is survived by seven children, Steve (Jessica) Tipton, Matthew (Cori) Tipton, Daisy (Micah) Bouillon, Jacob (Melissa) Tipton, Debra (Able Rodriguez) Tipton, Theresa Tipton and Gage (Sarah) Tipton. He is also survived by two siblings, Robin (Billy) Magnus and Hank (Debbie) Tipton; 24 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and another due to arrive in January of 2023.
Steven shared his life with his best friend and wife, Cheryl (Hudnall) Tipton. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
Unwinding on the couch, watching movies, or playing Canasta with family and friends were favorite past-times. Those who knew Steven best, described him as a hard worker and generous friend. He was an avid animal lover and contributed charitably each month to ASPCA.
A celebration of life is planned for Sunday, October 2nd at the Veteran’s Pub, 2525 NE Adams, Peoria, IL from 4pm - 7pm. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, October 5th at Bible Methodist Church, 818 East London Avenue, Peoria Heights, IL from 10am - 12pm.
