Obituary for Steven Bradbury
Steven R. Bradbury, 55, of Peoria Heights, IL passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Steve was born on June 5, 1958 to Walter R. Bradbury and Cathryn (Moore) Bradbury in Galesburg, IL. He married Elizabith Rogers on June 9, 1979. She survives along with his 3 children, Joshua and (Hayley) Bradbury of Carrollton, TX, Anna and (Gordon) Barkley of Downer's Grove, IL, and Katie and (Heath) Thornton of West Peoria, IL. He is also survived by his parents, Cathryn Bradbury of Peoria, IL, Walter and (Pat) Bradbury of Peoria, IL, 4 sisters, Beth and (Peter) Loehr of Buffalo, NY, Jane Bradbury of Peoria Heights, IL, Lynn Bradbury of Peoria Heights, IL and Anne Bradbury of Peoria Heights, IL and a very large and loving family including numerous nieces and nephews. He graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1976 and in 1978 joined the US Navy as a sonar technician. He served on the USS Capodanno. Upon completion of his 6 years of service he went to work for RK Dixon Company, where he became a Service Manager and worked there for over 20 years. He last worked for Caterpillar as a manager on the Carrier Line. Steve was an amazing Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. He had a gift of making everyone feel special and always put others before himself. He was a great golfer and passed his love of the game onto his Son. He spent many years coaching his children's sports at the Peoria Christian Center. His greatest love and joy in his life was his family. Surrounded by his entire family, he passed from the arms of his loving wife, into the arms of his Saviour! He will be greatly missed! There will be a visitation on Monday, September 16th from 4:30-6:30 at Five Points in Washington, IL. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be immediately after. Cremation has been accorded.
