Obituary for Stephanie Marie (Spirling) Lemm
Stephanie Marie (Spirling) Lemm, 40, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1980 in Peoria.
She is survived by her daughter, Abbey M. Brown; son, Layne C. Brown; father, Dan (Angie) Spirling; mother, Julie (Chuck) Thesing; mother-in-law, Terri Lemm; brothers, Kenneth Cody Spirling, Cassidy Wheeler; sister, Jourdan Fulton; brother-in-law, Austin Fulton; grandma, Jeanette Spirling and nieces, Bristol Spirling, Mila Spirling and Nora Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa’s, Kenneth C. Spirling, Dick DeVires; grandma, Diane DeVries and father-in-law, Jim Lemm.
Stephanie was an independent person with a generous heart of gold and a strong will to live. She fought a hard battle with cancer, bouncing back and surprising her doctors every single time.
Her proudest accomplishments are her two kids. She devoted her life to her children, Abbey and Layne, by making them her number one. Through good times and bad she would think of everyone else before herself, just to make sure everyone was okay. Steph was selfless to most and helped anyone who came her way. With her love of animals, Steph insisted on rescuing a dog from a shelter. That is where she got Ruby Rue, their bond was inseparable from the start. Steph had a lot of hobbies that range all over the place - plants, her love for collecting her precious gnomes, shopping (of course), trying new things, listening to her favorite bands and music like Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Alice in Chains, and spending time with her friends and family.
Steph enjoyed life and made others around her enjoy it too. She truly was one of the strongest people known by her family and friends. Steph was optimistic regarding how she lived her life. Optimism is hard to come by, but with Steph’s help she always got you through it. If Steph taught you anything, it would be to keep a positive outlook on your problems and love everyone around you so much. She would always say, “You know it always works out. It may not seem like it now, but you never will have to go without.”
Steph was a light on everyone she touched. She will forever be in our hearts and dearly missed.
Celebration of Life will be held on June 5, 2021.
