Obituary for Stanley M. Strickler
Stanley M. Strickler, 74, of Peoria passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born November 7, 1946, in Peoria to Orvel and Marguerite Fuchs Strickler. His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Geoffrey (Erika) Strickler, Nathaniel (Ava) Strickler; grandchildren, Clara, Thea, Zoe, Zev; sister, Velma Crowley, and former wife, Dorothy Strickler.
Stan served in the U.S. Army and worked as an English Teacher for Stark County High School retiring in 2003. He directed the plays and coached the Speech Team.
Stan loved his family. He was very involved with his church where he served as an Elder. He also served on the Christian Education, Session, and Worship & Arts Committees. He loved plays, musicals and reading.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 with visitation one hour prior at United Presbyterian Church 2400 W. Northmoor Road, Peoria, IL 61614.
