Obituary for Shirley Smith
Shirley M. Smith, 86, of East Peoria passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria. She was born September 29, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to Theodore and Leona Henson Robinson. Her children, Lou Ellen Barwick, Sharon Renee Barwick, Michael Scott Barwick, Jessica Danforth; parents; one sister and two brothers preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Karen (Amanda) Barwick, Eugenia (Michael) Platt, David Slizewski; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and sisters, LaVerne, Helen and Lenore. She owned Shirley’s Place on Main; retiring in 2010. Shirley loved helping others in her community. She enjoyed line dancing and sports. She loved her store, she was a true business woman. Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date.
