Obituary for Shirley Minyard
Shirley Mae Minyard, 92, of Pekin passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Hallmark House in Pekin. She was born January 8, 1926 in Pekin to Carl and Jennie Myers Petrie. She married Marvin T. Minyard; he preceded her in death in March 1978. Her parents also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle L. Hessler; grandchildren, Jason (Debbie) Muntner, Nathan (Christy) Muntner, Jennifer Cummings and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Shane Jr., Kyleigh and Nicholas. Shirley worked for Steger’s Furniture in Pekin; retiring in 2008. She attended Grace United Methodist Church. She loved her daughter and grandchildren; they loved her, and she will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and Pekin Women’s Club. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held.
