Obituary for Ruth Sharp
Ruth Sharp 89, of Pekin passed away on Thursday April 16, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on May 23, 1919 in Peoria to Floyd and Ruth McWilliams Hollis. She married Alvin Sharp in Peoria on March 21, 1936, he preceded her in death on September 25, 2000. Also proceeding were her parents, 5 sisters, 5 brothers, son Steven R. Sharp, daughter Mary Ellen Sharp, grandson Timothy Garrett and 3 great grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her children; Shirley (Carl) Campau of Chubbuck, ID, Doris (Earl) Young of Cheyenne, WY, Margaret Van Meter of Washburn, Helen (Charles) Cooney of Peoria, Barbara (Glen) Garrett of Montrose, IA, Patsy Sharp of Machesney Park, Alvin (Laura) Sharp of Delavan, Floyd (Donna) Sharp of Johnstown, PA, 23 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was a homemaker. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or Easter Seals. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
