Obituary for Ruth Garcia
Ruth Garcia 68, of Manito passed away Wednesday November 2, 2011 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 5, 1943 in Pekin to George and Mary Caulkins Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George Morris, Donald Morris, James Morris and sisters, Mary Schell and Virginia Lawson and brother-in-law Duane Vaughn. Surviving are three children, Brian (Rhonda) Morris of Manito, Dawn (Roy) Scott of Streator and Jill (Pancho) Mascote of Elgin, ten grandchildren, Corey (Trish) Pettie and Jera Pettie of Manito, Heather Morton, Joey Fornero and William Morton all of Streator, Bobby Limberg, Emmanuel Limberg and Michael Limberg all of Spring Valley, Frankie Mascote, Izzy Mascote of Elgin, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved four legged friend, Missy, and one sister Alice Vaughn of Washington. She loved fishing, sewing, and cooking. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was employed as a cook in Streator for many years then later as a nurse’s aide. Cremation has been accorded and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Manito Community Bank 105 S. Adams, Manito, IL 61546 in Ruth’s name to help with funeral arrangements.
