Obituary for Ruth A. Jones
Ruth A. Jones 67, of Washington died at 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday October 29, 2008 at her home. She was born in Chicago on August 19, 1941 to John E. and Ruth M. O’Neil both deceased. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra (John) Smeltzer of South Bend, IN, a brother James B. O’Neil of Lawrence, MI, sister Bonnie L. Allen of Germantown Hills and her niece Tracy M. Henthorn. She is preceded in death by one brother, Thomas O’Neil and nephew Thomas Henthorn. Ruth worked for ADT Alarm System for 19 years as a Secretary. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria and a member of the Sanctuary Choir. She loved cooking, baking for Christmas to give to her friends as their gifts and was an adamant Christmas ornament collector. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 15, at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church at 116 Perry Ave Peoria. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir or Community Hospice of Central IL. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
