Russell Gary Forbis, 80, of South Pekin passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
He was born September 11, 1941, in Menard County, IL to Sherman E. and Louvada Thompson Forbis.
He married Sharon K. Spencer; she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Tammy Forbis, Christina Draffen, Laura Robbins; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and sister, Vada Laverne Brown.
His father; mother; stepfather, Leonard Fletcher; brothers, Larry Forbis, Chuck Forbis; aunts; uncles; cousins; niece and son-in-law, Phil Draffen preceded him in death.
Russell worked for Caterpillar retiring June 1, 2003. He was a member and Sunday School Teacher at South Pekin Southern Baptist Church. He was a volunteer Firefighter for Cincinnati Protection Fire District for 30 years and Chief Firefighter for several years. He loved to fish, hunt, play music and most of all be with his family.
Per his wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
