Obituary for Russell Axtell
Russell W. Axtell, 71, passed away on July21, 2010 at Belwood Nursing Home, Peoria, IL. He was born August 3, 1938 in Quincy, IL to Allen and Marie Axtell. He married Eunice Allen on April 5, 1980 in Peoria, IL. He is survived by his wife, four children, David Foust (Cindy), Robyn Darden, Rhonda Foust and Marcia Foust of Peoria, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rocky, granddaughter, Bethany, and great-grandson, Joseph. Russ retired from Gilbert Trucking, Fort Meyers, FL in 2007. Russ was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and spending time with his family – especially fishing with his grandchildren. The memories of these times and his colossal fishing stories will always be treasured. Cremation has been accorded, and the family will hold a private celebration of life service.
