Obituary for Rosetta Wilson
Rosetta Mae Wilson, age 77, passed away on June 9, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare of Peoria. She was born October 9, 1940 to her parents, Finas and Pauline (Powell) Wilson near Petersburg, IL. She was the second child, having a sister, Pauline M. Wilson, who was 13 months older. She later had three brothers: Finas (Junior) Wilson, Robert (Bobby) Wilson, and Raymond Neal Wilson.

Rosetta graduated from Forman High School and attended Bible College. She worked for many years at the Carson, Pirie, Scott/Bergner's department store in Peoria. She and her sister, Pauline, have resided together in Peoria for many years, most recently at Heartland Healthcare of Peoria, where they continued their togetherness and support of each other as roommates.

Rosetta loved life and loved her Lord. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Peoria. Rosetta never married. She was a devoted sister to her siblings especially her lifelong companion and older sister, Pauline. She enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting afghans for those special to her. Colors were important to Rosetta. Although her favorite color was purple, she had a red cell phone, a red microwave, and red hair. She enjoyed writing letters when she was able and also sending greeting cards. She and Pauline were known to send out their Christmas cards earlier every year. Their cards were always the first to arrive.

Rosetta is survived by her sister, Pauline M. Wilson of Peoria, brother Finas (Junior) Wilson of Missouri and brother Raymond Neal Wilson and wife Penny of Arkansas, Uncle Russell Smith of Quincy, and Aunt Darlene Wilson of Taylorville. She is also survived by many cousins, including, Bonnie Sue (Wilson) Nagle of Waterloo, Vickie L. (Wilson) Moore of Taylorville, Larry Dale Wilson of Fairview, Texas, Karl Beaty of Petersburg, Larry D. Beaty of Pana, Esther (Beaty) Edwards of Springfield, Janet (Nelson) Scharf of Rochester, and Carla (Nelson) Needham of Mechanicsburg. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Gail Sue Wilson of Peoria and her family. She has many nieces and nephews. She has also been blessed over the years by her Calvary Baptist Church family and Pastor Garry Geer as well as many wonderful friends including Joe and Karen Stoller of Normal, and Annabelle Dayola of Peoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents Finas and Pauline (Powell) Wilson and her brother Robert Wilson, as well as her grandparents Elmer and Mattie Powell of Tallula and grandparents Benjamin H. Wilson of Petersburg and Goldie M. Wilson of Pleasant Plains.

Rosetta's funeral will be at the Calvary Baptist Church at 2200 W. Nebraska in Peoria, IL 61604 on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Garry Geer officiating. Burial arrangements are pending at the Greenwood Cemetery in Tallula, IL.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing may make a contribution to the family to help with funeral expenses. This may be brought to the Calvary Baptist Church the day of the funeral or sent to the church at :
