Obituary for Rosemary DePoy
Rosemary DePoy 90, of Pekin formally of Peoria passed away Friday May 6, 2011 at Pekin Manor. She was born August 2, 1920 in Peoria to D. Hale and Ella Sellers Thompson. She was a 1938 graduate of Peoria Central High School. She attended Bradley University and was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps. She was preceded in death by her brother; Howard D. Thompson, who was killed in action in WWII. Survivors include 2 daughters; Diane L. (Thomas) Schaub of Marquette Heights, and Susie Holcomb of Nashville, 3 grandchildren; Candice, Shane, Jeremiah, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 brother; Robert Thompson. Rosemary worked at Caterpillar during WWII and later worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She retired from the state of Illinois in 1985. She was a member of Calvary Bible Baptist Church and its retirees club, State of Illinois retirees and the Lakeview YMCA. Cremation rites have been accorded and no public service will be held.
