Obituary for Rose D. Sherman
Rose D. Sherman 79, of Canton formerly of Independence Village of Peoria passed away at 7 p.m., Thursday Oct 23, 2008 in Canton. She was born Nov. 26, 1928 in London, England to Louis and Catherine (Lyons) Denham. She married John K. Sherman on Dec. 25, 1950 in Fort Smith, Ark. He passed away Oct. 6, 2002. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine E. Sherman, two sisters, and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Susan (and William) Carter of Peoria, three grandchildren, Alexandra of Fort Collins, CO, Sam and Jack of Peoria, her sisters, Catherine Byrnes of London, England, Letty Morton of Wisbech, England, Sylvia Mohr of Indianapolis, IN, Betty Hauschild of Christ Church, New Zealand, and one brother Lionel (and Pauline) of London, England and many nieces and nephews. Rose was a homemaker. She was also a foster parent for many years. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov 15, 2008 at the Hotel Pere Marquette, Suite 1201, Peoria, IL with the Reverend Tim Wilbur officiating. Memorials may be made to the Heart of Illinois Down Syndrome Association or the Alzheimer’s Association. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
