Obituary for Ronald "Ronnie" Harry Broadus
Ronald “Ronnie” Harry Broadus, 76, of Peoria, IL passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Generations Nursing Home in Peoria, IL.

He was born March 8, 1944 in Streator, IL to Harry and Nadine Greenwood Broadus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Broadus, brother, Terry Broadus; son, Richard “Ricky” Broadus and two grandsons.

He married his wife Johari of 38 years on January 8, 1982; she survives. He is also survived by sons, Ronald Broadus Jr. of Bloomington, IL, Joe Broadus of Torrington, CT; daughters, Francis Broadus of Bloomington, IL, Yvonne Daum of Streator, IL; step-son, Brian Allen of Freemont, CA; step-daughters, Cynthia Brown of Freemont, CA, Jasmine Walk of Freemont, CA; sister, Carol Dews of Streator, IL; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and several grandkids and great-grandkids.

Ron served in the U.S. Army and worked as a school custodian retiring in 2011. He went to Streator grade schools and high school. Ron was a happy person and loved to make his friends and family happy. He loved being part of a large family. He felt it was a privilege to say he was “Nadine Broadus’s oldest boy”. On June 6, 1978 he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He loved reading the bible and telling other’s the good news of Jehovah Gods Kingdom. Being a man of faith to the end of his life he looked forward to the promise at Revelations 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and DEATH will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. Ronald Harry Broadus will truly be missed.

Cremation has been accorded and there will be a virtual private family and friends memorial service on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
