Obituary for Rodney S. Sipes
Rodney S. Sipes, 62, of Peoria passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Accolade Healthcare of Peoria.
He was born March 29, 1961, in Pekin to Robert F. and Anita A. Heintz Sipes. His parents and brother, Daryl G. Sipes preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Wade E. Sipes; sister, Brenda (Richard) Martin; nephews, Jason (Sarah) Bontemps, Jared (Shelbie) Bontemps, Jeremiah (Krista) Bontemps; six great nieces and nephews and his dog, Dixie.
Rodney was a long-time employee of City Coal & Asphalt, Inc. and also worked for Excel Foundry, retiring in 2011.
He loved playing softball and basketball. He was an avid Cubs fan. He had a great memory for sport statistics which he passed on to his son. He loved loud music and was known as “Rockin Rod”.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Pekin First Church of God 2520 Maywood Ave., Pekin, IL 61554.
