Obituary for Robert Yaeger
Robert R. Yaeger, 78, of Pekin passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born April 28, 1938 in Stamford, CT to William and Alice Peterson Yaeger. He married Gladys Servis January 4, 1964 in Havana; she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Crystal (Jeff) Neal of Pekin, Mary Higgs of Willow Springs, MO; grandchildren, Cortney Kolesar, Shalee Higgs, Zachary Flatley, Lindsey Flatley, Nathan Flatley, Tyler Neal, David Neal, Amber Shane, Tonya Piquard; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Kaedin, Xavier, Dallas, Shyanne, Braydon, Channler, Skyler; brother, William Yaeger, Jr. of Hopkinsville, KY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard Yaeger and Steven Yaeger. Robert served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a meat cutter for Krogers; retiring in 2005. He was a member of the VFW in Creve Coeur and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. He was a diehard St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed fishing, playing online poker and bowling. Most of all he loved being with his family, he will be greatly missed. Per his wishes cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the VFW in Creve Coeur. Memorials may be made to St. Jude in his name.
