Obituary for Robert Rodene
Robert W. Rodene, 90, of Washington passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 13, 1928 in Oskaloosa, IA to Walford and Helen Van De Goor Rodene. He married Phyllis J. Steinmetz October 11, 1947 in Peoria; she preceded him in death July 30, 2009. His parents; one granddaughter; son-in-law, Steve Bradley and sister, Gloria Smith also preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Mike (Mary) Rodene of Washington, Diane Erickson of Washington, Cheryl Bradley of Whitehall, MI; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Robert worked for ASARCO until retiring in 1985 and was a member of United Mine Workers. He “should have” an award for inventive creations; constantly creating devices to solve problems. He was an excellent hobby mechanic. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Congregation of Washington and was devoted to Ministry of Jehovah God. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses 4101 E. Washington St., East Peoria, IL 61611.
