Obituary for Robert "Mike" Hoffmann
Robert Michael Hoffmann, age 71, of Dunfermline, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. He was born August 5, 1947 in Peoria to Robert W. Hoffmann and Nadine (Frazee) Hoffmann. He was a 1965 graduate of Limestone High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was married to Connie (Rosich) Hoffmann and they always remained close. He was a retired operating engineer for Local 649. He was a self-proclaimed “simple man” who truly lived life his way. For those who knew him best his simple pleasures included, puppies, Chevys, Model A’s, Triumphs, geraniums, Pepsi, wagon wheels, mashed potatoes and gravy, unique thoughtful gift giving, wheeling and dealing, evergreens, tinkering in his garage, sunflowers, feeding the birds and sending THE BEST cards to family and friends. He was as genuine as they come and touched the lives of everyone he met. He was especially close to his cousin, “Goggi May” and his favorite chef “Boomer”. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Jo (Hoffmann) Knight; niece, Lori Jo Knight; two nephews, Timothy Gene Knight and Robert Gale Knight and many great nieces, great nephew and cousins. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held per Mikes wishes. In lieu of cards and flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice in his name. His “last ride” will be surfing on a board off the coast of Florida.
