Obituary for Robert Goodwin
Robert L. Goodwin, 66, of Pekin passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Pekin to Robert and Dolores Nelson Goodwin on November 16, 1949. He married Sandra K. Wilson (Goodwin) on June 20, 1994; she preceded him in death on June 16, 2009. Also preceding him were his parents; daughter, Tonya L. Goodwin; stepson, Phillip Hedrick and one brother, Edwin Goodwin. Robert is survived by his son, Robert L. Goodwin II of Pekin; stepson, John (Suzy) Hedrick of Pekin; brothers, Michael (Nancy) Goodwin of Evansville, IN, John (Julie) Moore of Manito, Bryan Kacer of Theodore, AL; 12 grand and 6 great grandchildren. Robert served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Wire Drawer for Keystone for 33 years, retiring in 2004, was of the Christian faith, lifetime member of the VFW #1232 Roy L. King and the Chataqua Sportsman Club. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin with Military Honors.
