Obituary for Rita M. Babb
Rita M. Babb 68, of 24494 E. Northshore Dr. in Canton passed away on December 8, 2008 at her home. Born in Havana, IL on September 30, 1940 to LeRoy and Virginia Smith Milner. She married William E. Babb in Elko, NV on August 24, 1963, he preceded her in death on November 4, 2008. Her parents, 1 brother, first husband T. Linzy Bale and sons; Linzy Bale Jr. and Clinton Charles Babb also preceded her in death. She is survived by her children; William Babb of Canton, Brian (LeNee) Babb of California, Debbie (Jim) George of Florida, Shannon (Bill) Simmonds of California, Linda (Doug) Grimes of Tennessee, Kathleen (Bruce) Gillies of California, Charlotte Ingle of Las Vegas, NV, Virginia (Brian) Cockeran of Illinois, Billie Jo (Jim) Ford of Fiatt, Eva (Byron) Tindall of Canton, brother Eugene (Elaine) Milner of Springfield, sister Wanda Milner of Illinois and her 23 grand and 26 great grandchildren. Rita worked as a LPN for many years, retiring in 1993. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Rita’s home. Memorials may be made to her family. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
