Obituary for Rita Albertsen
Rita (Peedie) Durbin Albertsen, 70, died from cancer June 22, 2018, at the Richard
L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, surrounded by loving family and friends. She
was born in Pekin, IL, and attended the Academy of Our Lady and Pekin High
School. Rita had been employed by Ganan & Shapiro, P.C., in Peoria. Rita is
survived by her daughter, Tara McCabe of Pekin; son, Brian (Wayshalee
Patel) McCabe of Chicago; grandchildren, Cody, Jayden, Austin, and Ayaana;
brother, Clarence Durbin; sisters, Claudette Eldert and Diane Durbin; brother-in-
law, David Tjaden; sisters-in-law, Linda Durbin and Diann Durbin, and many
loving nieces and nephews. Rita's husband, Urban Albertsen; parents, Earl and
Teresa; brothers, Arnold and Eugene; brother-in-law, Charles Eldert, and sister-in-
law, Marie, preceded her in death. A visitation from 12 noon to 1 p.m. and memorial
mass at 1p.m. will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 303 S. 7th St. in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rita's children or to OSF Hospice in Peoria.
