Obituary for Richard E. Voss
Richard E. Voss, 81, of Pekin, IL formerly of Peoria, IL passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 in Pekin.
He was born on October 31, 1940, in Arthur, IL to Edgar and Rachel (Snyder) Voss.
He married his first wife, Sandra Lupfer on April 14, 1963. He later married Penny Smith on September 15, 1970; she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Teri (Ray) Miller of Frankenmuth, MI, and Becky (Bob Rotherham) Voss of Pekin, IL; four grandchildren, Rachel (Alex) Myers, Ryan Miller, Brandon Voss, Brittany (Kevin Hensley) Johnson and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Furness, and Donna Bown.
Richard served in the U.S. Marine Reserves. He worked for Pabst Brewery until they closed in 1982. He then went on to become a long-distance truck driver.
Richard was devoted to his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He had a passion for cars and enjoyed working on them. He loved walks in nature, animals especially dogs, reading and watching a good western on TV. He loved to joke, laugh, and had a gift at making others laugh. His legacy will live on in those that love him dearly.
Cremation has been accorded and private graveside services with family will be held at a later date.
