Obituary for Richard Dean Shaw
Richard Dean Shaw, 63, of Canton, Illinois passed unto the Lord on July 20, 2021.
He was born February 23, 1958, in Canton, Illinois to Edwin Dean Shaw and Mary Jane Wilson.
Richard lived in Canton, Moline, Chicago, and lived many years in Florida. He came home to Canton in 2019 to be close to family.
He was a Master Mechanic with GM most of his working life. After retirement he started Shaw’s Garage in Bonita Springs, Florida.
He loved his three fur babies with his whole heart. He loved to fish, loved the land and all that lived on it. He was a free spirit and lived his life his way. He loved history, Bob Dylan, his country, God, family, and his motorcycle.
He is survived by his sister, Laura Jane (Charles) Powell; her children, Sarah (Jennifer) Powell-Fields and her children, Matthew (Wendy) Powell; great-niece, Megan; brother, David (Patty) Murphy; his children, Christian (Haley) Murphy, Nathan Murphy, Payton Murphy; sister, Melinda (Leroy) Tillman and her children, Jessica, Joey, Samantha, Shantowa, Ricky and J.C.
He was preceded in death by is parents; one infant sister and one infant nephew.
Richard was a good man, brother, and son. He is now at peace with the Lord and with his mother.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Donaldson Building in Wallace Park 250 S. Ave. D in Canton, IL.
