Obituary for Rebecca Dalrymple
Rebecca Ann Dalrymple, 72, of Lafayette passed away peacefully at 2:47pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2016 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 10, 1944, at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, the daughter of Ira and Betty (Nixon) Jones. She is survived by her three children, Gerald Shriber, Jr. of Dahinda, Jodi (Jim) Stotler of Bradford, and Jason Shriber of Williamsfield; four grandchildren, Cody Scott, Colby, Chelsey, and Cory Stotler, all of Bradford; her siblings, David Jones of Fort Collins, Colorado, Mary (Chuck) Hinrichs of Marquette Heights; nieces Rebecca (Blake) McCarty of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Lydia (Josh) Sorrells of Pekin; and best friends, Sharon Abernathy of Lafayette, Gail Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Terry Welch of Monmouth, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Dalrymple; fiancée, William Bricker, Sr., and a grandson, Cole.
She graduated from Richwoods High School followed with an associate in medical assisting from Midstate College.
She was a past member of Dahinda and Williamsfield United Methodist Churches where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Galva Assembly of God where she served as church treasurer. She was a past member of the Williamsfield School Board of Education, and a past trustee of the Village of Lafayette serving until June of this year.
She will be remembered most for her love of hosting dinners and decorating for holidays. She enjoyed baking, shopping, family gatherings, and attending extra-curricular activities of her grandchildren, especially their sporting events.
Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 22nd, at Williamsfield United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior at the church. Pastor Ivan Brake and Pastor Jennifer Seder will officiate. Burial will follow at Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to Galva Assembly of God or Williamsfield United Methodist Church.
