Raymond E. Bitner, 86, of Bellevue, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Peoria.
Born to George and Marie (Van Meighem) Bitner, Raymond lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgena; his children, Rhonda (Eric) Attig, Tony (Lorilei) Bitner, and Mark (Lori) Bitner; his cherished grandchildren, Ean, Brock, Molly, Jannelle, and Megan; three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Georgia (Mike) Day, and Cindy (Chuck) Milliman; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Raymond was a dedicated member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters for 65 years, a 50-year member of the Farmington Moose, and a proud member of the VFW.
Ray found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved attending country music shows and spending time outdoors tending to his yard. Feeding the birds and squirrels brought him peace and happiness.
In honoring Ray’s wishes, no formal services will be held. In his memory, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of hard work, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
