Raul Moya Rosas, age 81, entered into rest Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Peoria Illinois. He was born September 11, 1943 in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Maria Rosas. Brother, Luis A. Rosas. Nephews, Jesse and Luis A. Rosas Jr.
Mr. Rosas was a selfless man, bravely, serving is country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. His outstanding service was recognized through the following medals, decorations, and badges: National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, a Purple Heart, 2 O/S Bars, Expert (M-60), Sharpshooter (M-16), and Marksman (M-14).
All of God’s creatures were blessed to have Mr. Rosas in their lives. When his siblings needed anything at all, he’d move Heaven and Earth to see those needs be met. Being an avid animal lover, they too felt his generosity. He was always sheltering and feeding strays while taking care of his own pets. His absence will be felt for years by all the lives he served.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Carolina (Pablo) Salazar from Del Rio, Tx; Gloria Guerrero from Beaver Dam, IL. Nephew; Eddie (Feli) Rosas from Del Rio Tx; Nieces: Veronica Frazee of Peoria Heights, IL; Mary Jane Galindo from Round Rock Tx. Also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date.
