Obituary for Ralph Brown
Ralph E. Brown, 93 of Peoria, IL died Monday, May 17, 2010 at his residence. Born August 25, 1916 in St. Louis to Ralph E. Brown Sr. and Irene Parsons, he married Edna L. Miller on August 23, 1943, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2001. Ralph is survived by six sons Ralph Jr. of Savannah Georgia, Kenneth (Deborah) of Surprise Arizona, Gene (Teresa) of Hoffman Estates, Edwin of Peoria, Robert of Pekin, Gerry (Patty) of East Peoria. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one daughter Judy Freeburg, one son Garry Brown, two grandchildren Kenneth Jr. and Amy Jo, and one great-granddaughter Kayleigh Powell. He was also preceded by one brother and two sisters. Ralph was a Veteran of World War II serving from 1943 to 1946 in Germany and France. He worked for Polar Supply Co. of Peoria from 1947 until retiring in 1988. Ralph was an avid stamp and coin collector and enjoyed putting together collections for his grandchildren. He was of the Methodist faith. A private family memorial service will be at a later date. Cremation has been accorded. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Pekin/Peoria is in charge of arrangements. On-Line condolences may be made at csmico.com.
