Obituary for Phillip Withrow
Phillip Brooks Withrow, 88, of Dunlap, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at Liberty Village Manor Court of Peoria. He was born March 27, 1929, to Reverend and Mrs. Charles Withrow in Wyoming, IL. He was the youngest of five children. Two brothers and a sister proceeded him in death with one sister surviving in Sacramento, CA. He married Margaret Huston on June 26, 1954. Surviving are his wife, son, Dr. Mark Huston Withrow of Chicago, and daughter, Diane Lee Withrow of Wilmington, NC, along with two granddaughters, Brook Sinkinson Withrow of Los Angles and Megan Sinkinson Withrow of Atlanta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Phil graduated from Peoria Central High School, class of 1947. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1956 with a degree in Architecture after serving during the Korean War and attaining the rank of Sergeant. He practiced Architecture in central Illinois for forty-seven years, retiring in 1995 as a Vice President at Phillips, Swager and Associates. He was a member of the American Institute of Architecture. During his retirement he enjoyed golf, sailing and drawing. He was a member of the First Federated Church for thirty years. Memorials may be made to the church in his name. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held with a private burial.
