Obituary for Paul Garlock
Paul E. Garlock, 87, of Pekin formerly of Manito passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Timbercreek Rehab and Health Care Center in Pekin. He was born June 28, 1925 in Pekin to Charles and Hazel Batton Garlock. He married Helene Bond June 6, 1947 in Allegan, MI. She survives along with his daughters, Kathleen (John Metz) Garlock of Pekin, Carol (Gary) Hilgendorf of Pekin; son, Carey Garlock of Pekin; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Garlock; parents; four brothers and three sisters. Paul served in the U.S. Navy. He was self employed in the autobody repair business. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pekin, Pekin Boat Club and Celestial Citizen Banders. He was also a member of the Auxiliary Police and Civil Defense in the 60’s. He was a previous member of the VFW and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and wood carving especially birds and whales. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in his name. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date.
