Obituary for Patsy Nakamura
Patsy Nakamura, 87, of Peoria passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021. She was born on September 4, 1933 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Preceding her in death was her brother, George.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Lawrence Nakamura; their four children, Jill, Del, Patrick (Lori), and Leslie; and three grandchildren, Justin, Seri, and Tierra.
Patsy graduated from McKinley High School in Honolulu and moved to the Midwest where Lawrence attended graduate school. Patsy and Lawrence were married on December 22, 1961 and soon settled down in Peoria, IL. Patsy enjoyed many activities throughout her life (tennis, bowling, golf, embroidery, knitting, cooking) and one of her favorites was gardening.
Patsy’s wish was to return to Hawaii. Her ashes will be privately buried next to her parents and brother at a later date. In lieu of flowers, plant a tree or make a donation to a botanical garden.
