Obituary for Patrick Roger
Patrick Leo Roger 73, of Princeville, a loving husband and grandfather passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Pat was born December 11, 1937 in Peoria the son of Leo and Mildred Barler Roger. The most important things in Pats life were his family and friends, especially his beloved wife Rosa Lee Rebholz Roger of 54 years, his 4 children; Patrick (Fawn) Roger Jr., Elizabeth (Paul) Hargens, Linda (George) Sprague, Rudy (Christine) Roger and his 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister; Patricia. Pat will be remembered for his ability to make everyone laugh, and for his love of life. His retirement although to short allowed him to spend the last years of his life watching his grandchildren grow and to be the best Pop he could be. He was loved by everyone. He retired from Yellow Freight Trucking after 37 years, and owned and operated Roger Trucking for 10 years. He was a member of Teamsters 327 for 47 years, a member of the Princeville Lions Club and a member of the Farm Bureau. Pat was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Princeville where a Memorial Mass will be held Monday May 23, 2011 at 11 am. Fr. Patrick Riordan will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria at a later date. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made to OSF Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL.
