Obituary for Patrick Oberlander
Patrick R. Oberlander Jr., 79, of East Peoria passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. He was born July 6, 1939 in Peoria to Walter and Helen Beavin Oberlander. He married Bonnie Gauwitz; she preceded him in death August 7, 2014. His parents and brother, Richard Oberlander also preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Lori Oberlander, Mindi (Kenny) Radley, Patrick R. Oberlander II; brother, Mike (Mary) Oberlander; grandchildren, Casey, Kerri, Patrick III, Tory, Christopher, Kendra and great-grandchildren, JayciLynn, Monica, Allison, Jenna, Annette, Gabrielle, Talia, Jazzilyne, Tandyn, Keith, J.J. and Piper. Patrick loved serving in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961. He was self-employed having a satellite dish Co.; retiring in 2002. He loved his family especially his grandchildren who gave him many smiles. He was an Ambassador to the U.S. on an agriculture mission to Africa Mogadishu, Somalia. He designed and built grain driers and elevator legs. Patrick started Pro Enterprises in 1984. He was the first open heart patient in Peoria in 1975. Cremation has been accorded and a service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Peoria 411 W. Lake Ave., Peoria, IL 61614.
