Obituary for Patrick Grogan
Patrick Michael Grogan, 77, died at 1:48 pm Saturday January 28, 2012, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. He was born on July 21, 1934 in Menasha, Wisconsin, the son of Peter and Anne Grogan. Pat married Marilyn Lear on April 16, 1955 in Niagara, Wisconsin. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn, and children Mary Anne Rodieck, Patricia Scofield and Nancy Varner and four grandchildren, Brian and Carrie Scofield of Ballwin, Missouri and Emily and Matthew Varner of Ellisville, Missouri. He was a retired Technical Process Manager USA Operation with Quaker Chemical Company with 25 years of service. He was the recipient of numerous Machining and Grinding Process Awards and an active member of the TAPPI-ASTM and American Chemical Society. He enjoyed his tenure as the President of Sunnydale Estates Homeowner Association and was a proud Life-Time Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and a Korean War Veteran. Pat was a devoted choir member of the St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Eureka, Illinois and as such the family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to St. Luke’s Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 31 at St. Luke’s Church in Eureka with a half-hour of visitation prior to the services. Cremation has been accorded.
