Obituary for Patricia N. Volmer
Patricia N. Volmer 59, of Pekin passed away on Tuesday September 30, 2008 in the Emergency Room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Peoria on July 1, 1949 to Thomas and Clarabelle Pebble McSweeney. She married Wayne Volmer in September of 1972, he preceded her in death along with her parents. Patricia is survived by her son Thomas (Rachel) Volmer of Dallas, TX brother T. Michael (Beth) McSweeney of Washington, grandson Alex and her loving companion for 20 years; Fiancée Lawrence J. Brandt of Pekin. She graduated from East Peoria High School in 1967 and Monmouth College in 1971, was on the YWCA Board, Pekin Financial Development Committee, Parkview 9 hole golf league, Quail Meadows golf league, member of Kappa Delta Society, volunteered at the House of Hope, worked as the Assistant Administered at the Department of Human Services for 31 years, retiring in 2002 and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held for her on Saturday October 4, at 10 a.m. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Burial will be in Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria. A visitation will be held at Abts Mortuary on Friday form 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials can be made to the House of Hope. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
