Obituary for Oliver Dale Jacobs Sr.
Oliver “Dale” Jacobs Sr. 63, of Bartonville passed away on Friday January 4, 2008 at his home. Born in Peoria on September 28, 1944 to Oliver W. and Vera E. Cobb Jacobs, he married Brenda Sue Welker in Farmington on September 29, 1962. She survives along with his children; Sue (Jeff) Murphy and J.R. (Patty) Jacobs both of Bartonville, Diana (Terry) White of East Peoria, Denise (Steve) Brown of Alexandria, MN, Tonia (Tim) Stear of Bellevue, Revina (Steve) Smith of Mapleton, brothers John (Linda) Jacobs of Canton, Glen (Maggie) Jacobs of Glasford, sisters Phyllis (Phillip) Howle of Ocalla, FL, P.J. (Denny) Hagerdorn of Bartonville and 14 grand and 6 great grandchildren. His parents and brother Gerald preceded him in death. Dale was an Welding Inspector 31 years at Komatsu, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the American Legion #979 in Bartonville and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Cremation has been accorded and private services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the benefit of Oliver Jacobs Sr. at Redbrand Credit Union in Bartonville. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
