Obituary for Norma Jean Bland
Norma Jean Bland, 77, of West Peoria passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria. She was born January 15, 1939 in Peoria to Herbert and Marguerite Jones Abney. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Bland, Cheryl Bland and granddog, Clyde. She graduated from East Peoria Community High School and received her Associates Degree in accounting from Shawnee Community College. Norma worked at the Visitor Center at Trail of Tears State Forest in Missouri. She loved angels, butterflies and Panama City Beach, FL; where her ashes will be placed at a future date. Per her request cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. She wants to be remembered for her fun times and ask everyone to have a good laugh and a cold cocktail in her memory. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of the donor’s choice in her name.
