Obituary for Nioma Ginger Edwards
Nioma “Ginger” E. Edwards 81, of 2601 W. Willow Lake Dr. Apt 18 Peoria passed away peacefully at her home on Friday February 22, 2008. Born in Peoria on January 10, 1927, the daughter of Lavern and Fay Bilbrey Lavaux. She married Robert B. Edwards in Deland, FL in 1977, he preceded her in death on April 26, 1991 along with her parents, brother Harold Lavaux, sisters Leona Morris, Josephine Stapleton and two nephews. Ginger is survived by her sister Sandra K. (Raymond) Walker of Peoria and sister-in-law Delores Lavaux of Washington. She worked in the Smoked Meat Department for Armour and was a Property Manager in Florida, retiring in 1980. Ginger was an avid golfer and bowler and was an motorcycle enthusiastic and was the lead cyclist for the Motor Maids. She attended New Life Christian Fellowship in North Pekin were a memorial service will be held on Saturday March 1, at 11 a.m.. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or her church 309 Elm St. North Pekin. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
