Obituary for Nancy Sue Avery
Nancy Sue Avery, 72, of Peoria passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria. She was born February 6, 1947 in Peoria to Rosco and Doris Giles DeArmond. She married James Callahan in Peoria; he died in 1979. She later married Mark J. Avery June 2, 1988 in Peoria; he survives. She is also survived by her children, Dan (Katie) Callahan of Bartonville, John Callahan of Bartonville, Kristi (Tine Amling) Bohem of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Jake Callahan of Pekin, Alex Callahan of Bartonville, Kyle Callahan of Bartonville and sister, Sally. Her parents preceded her in death. Nancy worked for UnityPoint Health Pekin Hospital for nearly 35 years as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Per her wish’s cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS or TAPS in her name because she liked her dog better than most people.
