Obituary for Morgan (Pete) Thompson Jr.
Morgan “Pete” Thompson Jr., 59 of Pekin passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born in Peoria on October 25, 1954 to Morgan Thompson Sr. and Joyce Tribbett. He married Teresa Schneider in Pekin on July 10, 1981, she preceded him in death on April 13, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his father and several other family members. He is survived by his children, Linda (Brian) Buford of Manito, Tracy Coats of Peoria, Troy Thompson of East Peoria; grandchildren, Aaron and Phillip Buford of Manito; several other grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Corp; sisters, Barbara Kalb, Brenda Rises along with several other brothers and sisters. Pete served in the U.S. Army and last worked for Mid State Collision in Mackinaw, retiring in January of 2014. He loved his 1957 Chevy and riding his Harley. He collected Hot Wheels and was a Jeff Gordon Fan. A visitation will be held at Abts Mortuary in Pekin on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
